Garage Gallery E17
A space for socially conscious art in East London
Founded in 2022, our converted garage in Walthamstow provides emerging artists, as well as those with more experience of exhibiting, with a free space to showcase their work.
Our aim is to open up opportunities for people starting on their creative journey, and to bring socially conscious, thoughtful and thought-provoking art into our neighbourhood space. We've already featured solo artists and group projects by emerging and more established artists, and works by refugees and migrants, viewed by hundreds of art fans, collectors and supporters.
Coming up next in 2026
Walthamstow Art Trail 5 – 14 June 2026
We're proud to be participating in this year’s Art Trail, and we’d like to thank all the volunteers who’ve worked so hard to make it possible. There are 165 venues across the borough; we’re venue 108 and we’re hosting two shows, and a mural, over the period:
‘Nature in the City, The City in Nature’ - new work by Frances Easter Brennan and John Vincent, using analogue and digital photography, video techniques and drawing.
‘Me and you and you and me’ - William Stok and Valerie Large present their work, to celebrate 50 years of marriage and professional sharing.
‘When the marshes crawled up to the village’ - mural produced for us, for the Art Trail, by Ella S Robinson.
